Well, in America pornography is widely available, but sex with women is not. We've had the Me Too Movement, women are graduating from college more than men even though it was widely claimed a decade ago that women were being ignored in the classroom, and many women are now getting good high paying jobs, to the point where they are having a hard time finding men who measure up financially. The househusband thing isn't widely accepted. Women initiate the majority of divorces in the US, and men often lose the kids and house, etc. When that happens. It is so changed now that men are suffering an epidemic of loneliness which causes depression, violent behaviors and ear!y death for men; many articles are being written about this. In America, women are in control of sex. ALL of this was totally unthinkable in the US, only sixty years ago; women had few rights and couldn't even get a credit card on their own. Undesirable men have to pay for sex or watch porn. Marriage in social- functionalist paradigm was a way to keep women in their place.
