I think MUFON died of its own crapulence. You’d think Bigelow would’ve done better with the data he supposedly filched from their database had he handed it to Jacques Vallee. He’s been saying for some time he could create a useful standardized database given the funding, also that he has practical experience doing so. He certainly has the interest and name recognition. Maybe Bob’s more careful spending his own money than taxpayersOne thing is obvious, despite all the ridicule, public interest into subject is strong enough that there is a need for financially and legally independent UFO research institution.
Now, all the weakly funded and legally unprotected institutions so far, like MUFON etc. had failed. Because luck of funding MUFON turned itself into entertainment venue, which is opposite to it's original role.
So something stronger is needed.
